Caribou grooms 170 miles of Aroostook County's 1600 mile snowmobile trail system. Caribou is the hub of snowmobiling in Aroostook County and western New Brunswick, offering a variety of loop trips for day travelers or starting points for long distance travelers.

Many of the trails in Aroostook follow the route of the County's only electric railroad through wooded areas and open fields. Much of the corridor is lined by a canopy of snow-covered spruce and balsam creating a spectacular display for winter enthusiasts.
